Opening Statement

 

 

This is my third and final year at Chester university, personally I feel as though I’ve come a long way since my first lecture, after fresher week just surviving that lecture was an achievement. My style throughout university has developed dramatically. My illustration and designs over the first 2 years visually represent a more closed minded self, but within my final year something I aim to achieve is pushing myself beyond the boundaries, ultimately eliminating my comfort zone.

 

Each project I aim to improve my illustrator skills, coming to university with no computer skills has been a difficult task. Completing projects digitally was a time consuming concept, but in my final year I’ve finally come to grips with illustrator and each project has become far more enjoyable. With this being said, staying open minded with each project is also important. I see myself personally as an illustrator rather than a graphic designer, but I believe my graphic style has digitally evolved each year, I hope to continue adapting my digital skills within the near future.   

 

Currently taking inspiration from streetwear clothing brands like KidSuper, Stussy, Boot Boyz Biz and brain dead, I aim within my work to produce similar concepts throughout my illustrations and designs. once university has come to an end, Creating my own clothing brand is something I aim to achieve, my love for fashion and graphic design is something I want to collaborate. This naturally has become my ambition, for this may be farfetched to accomplish, I’m inspired and willing to make this dream possible.
